AUGUSTA - The Augusta man accused of burning down a topless coffee shop in Vassalboro has pleaded not guilty to two counts of Arson.
Raymond Bellavance, Jr., 49, was arraigned in Kennebec County Superior Court this morning. Bellavance was the boyfriend of one of the waitresses who worked at the Grandview Topless Coffee Shop that was destroyed by fire in June of 2009. An adjoining apartment was also destroyed, in which the shop’s owner, Donald Crabtree and six family members were residing. After a ten month investigation, fire marshals arrested Bellavance in South Carolina on a warrant in early May. His trial date is tentatively scheduled for September.
