Witmer to Serve Jail Time Submitted: 12/29/2009
Eddington - An Eddington man convicted last month for assault and violating a protection order will spend the next 4 years in jail.

Ryan Witmer, 33, faced numerous charges for allegedly trying to kill his estranged wife and her boyfriend in June of 2008 after breaking into her Orrington house. He was originally charged with aggravated attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault, and burglary, for beating the woman and stabbing her male companion before turning the knife on himself. However, last month a jury found Witmer not guilty of the attempted murder charges and instead found him guilty of assaulting the two victims and violating a protection order.
