Fire Leaves Winterport Family Homeless Submitted: 11/17/2009
Winterport - A fire Tuesday morning has left a Winterport family homeless.

The Winterport Fire Department received a call of smoke coming from a house on Souder Station Lane around 8a.m, and arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames.

Fire officials say they believe the home, owned by Scott and Tori Searles, is a complete loss.
There were no human injuries reported, but a cat and a dog were in the home when the fire began and were not able to be rescued.

Crews from Hampden, Frankfort, and West Frankfort also helped on scene.

The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
