Fire Destroys Electrical Business Submitted: 11/10/2009
HERMON - Several area fire departments responded to a blaze that tore through a Hermon business early Monday evening.

The Hermon Fire Department responded to a call at about 6:20pm, which stated that the Carmel Electric building, located in Freedom Industrial Park, was on fire. Crews from Levant, Bangor, Hampden, and Glenburn were all called in for mutual aid, but it still wasn’t enough to minimize the damage. Chief Willis of Hermon Fire says there is extensive damage to the structure, and there may only be parts of it that can be saved—though two computers were pulled out of an office. Fire officials currently have no idea what started the blaze. A State Fire Marshal will investigate today. No one was injured in the incident.
