Family Home Destroyed by Fire Submitted: 11/06/2009
ORRINGTON - An Orrington family is homeless after a fire destroyed their home early this morning.

Fire crews from Orrington, Holden, Brewer, Bucksport and Eddington responded to a fully involved structure fire at 876 River Road around 1:30 this morning. When crews arrived, they say flames up to 60 feet were coming from the rear roof of the home. Three people were inside at the time of the blaze—a passerby stopped to get them out the house. All three transported themselves to Eastern Maine Medical Center with smoke inhalation and burns. The Fire Marshal’s Office was on scene today to determine the cause of the fire.
