Newburgh Man to Serve Jail Time Submitted: 11/04/2009
Bangor - A Newburgh man will spend the next 6 months in jail following a plea deal for supplying teenagers with drugs.

Michael Fortunato, 45, was sentenced in Penobscot Superior Court on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Furnishing of Prescription Drugs and Aggravated Unlawful Furnishing of Marijuana, both to minors.

Fortunato was arrested after supplying teenagers with muscle relaxants and pot at a party at his home in March.

Nathan Clark, 17, of Hampden attended that party but then went missing. Four days later, his body was found in a gravel pit.

An autopsy showed he had died of environmental hypothermia and a toxic dose of muscle relaxants.

Fortunato will report to the Penobscot County Jail on Friday to begin his sentence.
