Belfast - Belfast, ME) -- Now that the money is counted up, a group helping cancer patients is proud to announce nearly eight-thousand dollars was raised a couple of weekends ago. It was the annual walk to benefit the Waldo County General Hospital Oncology Patient Assistance Fund and mammography Fund. Nearly eight-thousand dollars was raised this year, about 500 more than in October 2008. Another benefit of the walk isn't tangible or countable, like the money. That benefit is the support given to those now undergoing treatment for cancer, as well as those who have survived. Also honored are those who lost their battle
