Third Hunting Accident Reported for Bird Season Submitted: 10/12/2009
A Maine hunter was injured this weekend while duck hunting; the third hunting related incident since October 1st.

A Mapleton man in his 20s was hit by bird shot Saturday while hunting with a friend in Aroostook County. The Maine Warden Service says the man was hit in his leg and foot and was treated at The Aroostook Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. On Thursday, a Virginia man was hit in the cheek while hunting with a friend in Long Pond Township; and on October 1st, a Man was hit by bird shot in the chest while hunting pheasant on Chebeague Island.
