Al Brady to Come Back to Life Submitted: 09/14/2009
Bangor - Gangster Al Brady will be brought back to life next month for a reenactment of the 1937 shootout in downtown Bangor.

Bangor Beats the Brady Gang - Gangsters Stopped on Central Street will be a three day event, beginning on Friday, October 9th.

A history of the Brady gang hosted by Mayor Gerry Palmer, will kick off the festivities.
On Saturday in West Market Square, there will be singing, dancing and fun for the whole family. The weekend ends with a re-enactment of the shootout on Sunday afternoon.

"There are many people alive who remember that day. They've gotten older, but they remember it very well. This happened 72 years ago and while it's not something you would want to have for a city, it's something that did happen. No Bangor citizens got hurt and the bad guys career ended right here on Central Street," said Mayor Gerry Palmer. Schedule of Events:

Friday, Oct. 9th - Brady Gang Talks, 4pm and 7pm Hammond Street Senior Center

Saturday, Oct. 10th - Carmel Suto Rest Park Extravaganza, 1-4pm West Market Square, Bangor.

Sunday, Oct. 11th - 2:00 - 3:30pm Vintage Auto Parade - Brady Gang Shootout, Central St., Bangor
