Two men are in custody following a large pot bust in Piscataquis County.
52-year old, Joel Johnson of Abbot and his brother, 55-year old, Kurt Johnson of Madison, have been charged with marijuana cultivation after sheriff’s deputies seized 50 marijuana plants and assorted firearms from their property. Deputies busted the two men at Joel’s Abbot home who were guarding their crop of pot plants, armed with shotguns. Kurt is also being charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and violating his probation. In a separate incident, 31-year old, Corey Barker was summonsed at his Parkman home Monday for marijuana cultivation and possession of firearms. Authorities seized 64 marijuana plants, along with paraphernalia and a rifle.
