MILO - A man is in jail after holding police at bay for 9 hours.

Milo Police received a call shortly after midnight that 37-year-old David Krueger was threatening to kill himself inside his Riverside Street home. Upon arrival, police had discovered that Krueger had barricaded himself inside the house with a high-powered rifle as well as several other firearms, threatening to shoot anyone that came near the house. While on scene, police reported hearing several shots fired inside the residence. Brownville police, Piscataquis Sheriff’s Department deputies, as well as Maine State Police and their tactical teams responded to aid Milo police. Shortly before 9am, state police tactical teams managed to talk Krueger into surrendering. He is being held at the Piscataquis County Jail on charges of terrorizing, creating a police standoff, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.
