BANGOR - A woman, who pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement in both Penobscot and Hancock counties exactly one year ago, was sentenced Tuesday.
Cecilia White, 44, of Exeter, was sentenced in Penobscot Superior Court to 9 years with all but 3 ½ years in prison followed by 4 years of probation for two felony counts of embezzlement. White was accused of embezzling money from the Asian Palace restaurant in Bangor from January 2001 to November 2001, eventually forcing the restaurant to close after seven years of business. She faced similar charges in Hancock County, stealing money over a four-year span. White was also ordered Tuesday afternoon to pay over $450,000 in restitution.
