HANCOCK COUNTY - Two Maine men will each spend a year in prison for setting a fishing boat on fire in 2008.
Bradley Wilkinson, 40, of Winter Harbor, and Avery Scott, 39, of Gouldsboro, were sentenced last week after pleading guilty to Arson. The two admitted to setting Christopher Blanchette’s 25-foot boat “First Run” on fire while it was moored in Bunker’s Harbor. According to court documents, the men had been drinking the night they rowed out to the boat, doused it with gasoline, and set it on fire. Investigators say they suspected the boat’s owner of having tampered with other fishermen’s gear. Both men received 6-year prison sentences, with all but one-year suspended.
