Augusta - The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged two people in connection with the burglaries in Kennebec County.
Police conducted surveillance on two suspects who attempted to pawn jewelry at the Timeless Treasures Pawn Shop in Hallowell. Sarah Vitale and Luke Greenlaw stole approximately $75,000 worth of jewelry, cameras, silver coins, electronics, knives and other valuables. The stolen property was found in Vitale’s vehicle and residence in Augusta. According to Sheriff Randall Liberty, “Many of the items were family heirlooms. To the victims of these crimes, the items were not replaceable”. The burglaries took place in Vassalboro, Albion, China, Sidney, Monmouth, Edgecomb, and a few others. Liberty also states, “These burglaries were committed to feed the suspects opiate addictions. There is evidence of heavy Heroin and Crack Cocaine addiction”. The Sheriff’s department is pleased to return the items to their rightful owners. Victims who believe their property has been recovered are asked to contact the investigating agency, which took the burglary complaints.
