Detroit - Former UMaine goalie Jimmy Howard makes first career playoff start.
While Jimmy Howard had plenty of pressure on him as the star goalie at UMaine, it's safe to say he probably never dealt with pressure quite like the NHL playoffs. That is, until last night.
Howard made his first career playoff start for the Detroit Red Wings, losing to the Phoenix Coyotes 3-2. The loss is his first in regulation since March 9th. He was fairly impressive in the loss though, saving 32 shots. The Red Wings will be back in action tomorrow night at 10.
