Funeral Services for Bud Cianchette Submitted: 11/11/2009
Pittsfield - Funeral services were held Wednesday for a World War Two veteran and co-founder of Cianbro Construction Company.

Bud Cianchette, one of four brothers who founded the construction company in 1949, died last Thursday after battling with a short illness.

A memorial service was held Wednesday morning in Pittsfield in the company of family, friends, and even Senators Olympia Snowe and Susuan Collins.

Bud served in World War Two and was President and chief negotiator of Cianbro in the 1960's. He and his brothers are responsible for constructing the Kenduskeag Stream Canal and bridge project on I-95.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, a daughter, 4 sons and several grandchildren.

Bud Cianchette was 83 years old.
